A few months back, I bought my first Golden Goose sneakers (and shared them first in this post!), and got tons of questions from you guys ever since. So many that I figured I’d dive in and give you a detailed review! I’ve also worn them enough now that I can confidently speak to their craftsmanship, and a number of other aspects about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

Where were you able to get your pair?

Do they fit as expected?
I’d say they fit true to size, based on my pair.
Since they don’t stretch and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d recommend sizing up.
Are they comfortable?
Very comfy, and only took a few hours to break in..
How golden goose sneaker durable are they?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over the city, and I’m impressed with the durability. No glitter has fallen off, and the shape stayed solid. Because they already look worn, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
How are they vs. other brands?
These are the best sneakers I own. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose wins in both comfort and quality. They have a hidden arch lift that adds just over an inch — making your legs look longer. Not to mention, they’re handmade in small batches, so each pair is unique. And the glitter on mine? Absolutely gorgeous.
Would you recommend them?
Totally! Though I suggest looking for a deal. They’re not cheap, so getting them with a promo is worth it. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you pick something you’ll wear a lot. I chose a loud pair, but a neutral version would also go with everything.

Are they true to size?
They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a EU 36. They haven’t stretched noticeably, so if you’re in the middle, I’d go up a size
How comfy are they?
They felt good almost immediately. No-show socks help with the break-in period, especially since they help with airflow. High-end Italian leather construction, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in plastic-based shoes. Also, they’re already broken-in so your feet just slide in.
Do they hold up well?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. The laces are intact, and the leather hasn’t stretched.
Thanks to the vintage look, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
